The Peacemaker revolver, also known as Single Action Army (SAA), was designed by Samuel Colt in 1873 and it was manufactured with different lengths of cannon: the short, 4.75-inch version, the longer versions 5.5- and 7.5-inch, or The imposing 12-inch ”BuntlineSpecial” used by the legendary Wyatt Earp in service with the Dodge City Peace Commission.<\/p>\n
Cette arme a \u00e9t\u00e9 initialement utilis\u00e9e par l'arm\u00e9e am\u00e9ricaine. Cependant, en quelques ann\u00e9es, la plupart des citoyens am\u00e9ricains se sont dot\u00e9s d\u2019un de ces revolvers. Outre le Peacemaker mentionn\u00e9, il \u00e9tait \u00e9galement connu sous le nom de Frontier ou Widowmaker, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la facilit\u00e9 de ce revolver \u00e0 laisser des veuves parmi les \u00e9pouses de l'\u00e9poque.<\/p>\n
L\u2019industrie cin\u00e9matographique a mythifi\u00e9 le \u00ab Peacemaker \u00bb dans les westerns des ann\u00e9es 40 et 50, et il a \u00e9t\u00e9 associ\u00e9 \u00e0 des stars du grand \u00e9cran comme John Wayne ou Gary Cooper. Roosevelt en avait \u00e9galement un avec ses initiales grav\u00e9es et George S. Patton en utilisait deux.<\/p>\n
